Always one of the most popular formats in Campania, Ziti are perfect with intense seasonings capable of creating an excellent balance with the gustatory intensity of this extraordinary format of bronze-drawn Pasta di Gragnano PGI. Their name derives from the past custom of women without husbands – the “zite” – of staying at home to break pasta for Sunday sauces instead of going to mass with their families. Wrapped in “macaroni paper” as was once done, this pasta shape must be broken by hand before being immersed in water. Best performance? Pair them with the “Genoese” meat sauce, one of the most classic Neapolitan preparations! Our pasta is PGI certified Pasta di Gragnano, bronze drawn, slowly dried at low temperatures, produced with 100% Italian durum wheat semolina and local spring water. Contains a minimum of 14% protein, consistent when cooked and highly digestible.
