Our visit to the slopes of Vesuvius to protect bees

Let's save the bees

For World Bee Day, we paid a visit to Bee-Ho an Italian start-up that produces honey according to organic standards and fights for the defence of the ecosystems of these creatures that are fundamental to our planet. We tell you about it in this article, where you will also find the video with an interview with the three founders.

Happy reading and #gogreen!

What immediately struck us about Roberto, Giuseppe and Daniele was their ambition: that deep desire to make changes and improvements. Improvements that start small but think big. They start, in fact, with the production of honey using organic production methods and set themselves the goal of redeveloping the surrounding area. In between, there is also the fight to safeguard bees, which are so important for the Earth.

Giovanni, Giuseppe and Daniele are the founders of Bee-Hó, a young beekeeping company from Campania that has its production plant right at the foot of Vesuvius, precisely in the volcano’s National Park. Bee ho, more than a company, is a beekeeping project, which they themselves describe as ‘traditional in technique and innovative in concept’.

Moved by a great passion, which perhaps comes even before their ambition, these three young Italians set themselves the goal of making a contribution to the area that surrounds them and that has given them so much. Vesuvius provides beautiful landscapes and infinite resources and raw materials, and it is undoubtedly a land that should be promoted and, before that, valorised on a national level.

We as Bee-Hó are always in the front line for the environment and in contributing to the spread of authentic Italian products and for this reason we are proud to make their products available in our e-shop.

World Bee Day

What a better choice than World Bee Day to sponsor our partnership? In case you didn’t know, bees are crucial to our Planet because they encourage pollination, and consequently the proliferation, of many plants and other flora.

Nowadays, however, due to various environmental factors forced by the hand of man, bees are a very endangered species. This is why World Bee Day was established on 20 May.

This day was established with four very specific aims:

  1. Drawing public and political attention to the importance of bee conservation
  2. To emphasise the direct relationship between our survival on this plateau and that of these creatures
  3. Promote the commitment of beekeepers and those who strive for a more sustainable world
  4. Saying enough to the loss of biodiversity and the degradation of ecosystems so as to contribute to the above-mentioned goals

Free honey!

And finally, we have great news for all our Vico Lovers: to celebrate our partnership we will include a jar of honey in your next Vico box as a free gift. And now we leave you with the video taken during our visit to Bee Hó, enjoy!
