Main recommended uses
– In the kitchen
To clean fruits and vegetables.
Add 1 tablespoon (25g) of Solvay Bicarbonate to every liter of water and soak the fruits and vegetables. Alternatively, rub them with a paste made of water and Solvay Bicarbonate. Rinse under running water.
Solvay Bicarbonate does not have a disinfecting action.
To aid in leavening.
Add 1 teaspoon (5g) of Solvay Bicarbonate to the dough of cakes and pastries, or dissolve it in milk for every half kilogram of flour. Solvay Bicarbonate helps in the leavening process but does not replace yeast.
To eliminate odors in the refrigerator and freezer.
Place an open container with approximately 1/2 cup (150g) of Solvay Bicarbonate in the refrigerator and/or freezer compartment. Replace the product every three months.
To deodorize and sanitize the dishwasher.
Sprinkle a handful of Solvay Bicarbonate on the dishes or on the bottom of the dishwasher to eliminate bad odors that form between washes. 1/2 cup (150g) of Solvay Bicarbonate once a month, added during the empty rinse cycle, keeps the appliance efficient.
– In the washing machine
To enhance liquid detergent.
Add 1 tablespoon (25g) of Solvay Bicarbonate to the detergent compartment during the wash and/or prewash phases. This will increase the cleaning effectiveness of the liquid detergent.
To remove bad odors.
Add 1 tablespoon (25g) of Solvay Bicarbonate during the rinse cycle. Ideal for neutralizing persistent and hard-to-remove odors.
Solvay Bicarbonate prevents the formation of limescale.
Do not use on wool and silk.
– In the house
To deodorize and revive the colors of carpets and rugs.
Sprinkle Solvay Bicarbonate evenly on the surface to be cleaned. Leave it on for up to 24 hours, then vacuum or beat the carpet with a carpet beater.
To deodorize the cat litter box.
Sprinkle a layer of Solvay Bicarbonate on the bottom of the litter box before pouring the sand. This neutralizes substances that cause bad odor.
To eliminate any source of bad odor.
Put a handful of Solvay Bicarbonate in the vacuum cleaner bag.
A bowl in the shoe rack or in the wardrobes. Regularly, sprinkle a handful on the trash in the garbage can.
– Personal hygiene
Relaxing and emollient bath and footbath.
Dissolve 1/2 cup (150g) of Solvay Bicarbonate in hot bathwater. Dissolve 2 tablespoons (50g) in hot footbath water.
Soft and clean hair.
Dissolve 1 teaspoon (5g) of Solvay Bicarbonate with the usual shampoo once a week. Massage and rinse thoroughly before applying conditioner.
