The Gianduiotto, or Giandujotto, is a prism-shaped chocolate native to Turin. Legend has it that the name comes from a popular carnival mask, Gianduja: a puppet owned by two street artists in the early 19th century. According to some historical sources, Gianduja would have distributed this particular chocolate in the city streets, and its success was immediate. It is difficult to determine if the story is actually true, but one thing we can say for certain is that you don't need to wander the streets of Turin to enjoy a good Gianduiotto.
