It is not known for sure what the origin of the name Wafer is. It is likely that it derives from the now disused English word waba meaning bees' nest. The rhomboid motif decorating the thin, crispy sheets that form them is in fact reminiscent of the bees' hive, the structure where honey is collected. The Elledì Poker Cacao Wafers are not filled with honey but the concept is the same: the typical texture serves to collect and hold, in this case, a delicious Cacao cream filling!
