The Gianduiotto, or Giandujotto, is a chocolate treat with a particular prism shape, originating from Turin. The story goes that the name comes from a popular mask of the Turin Carnival, Gianduja: a puppet belonging to two street artists from the early 1800s. According to some historical sources, Gianduja would have distributed this particular chocolate treat in the city streets, and its success was immediate. It is difficult to establish whether the story is really true, but one thing we can say for sure: to enjoy a good Gianduiotto today, you don't need to wander the streets of Turin.
