Amaro Unicum has an ancient history that takes us back to 1970. According to legend, King Joseph II of Hungary, afflicted by digestive problems, turned to his court doctor in search of a solution. Doctor Zwack, in response to this request, proposed to the Emperor an elixir based on medicinal herbs. The Emperor was extremely enthusiastic about this bitter drink, which soon became famous. The recipe for this elixir is still a well-kept secret today, with knowledge of it limited to the descendants of the manufacturer.
